How to synchronize users without setting their department?

Hello,we want to switch an existing system from login to SSO:LL 9.7.1 (+ monthly patch 8/2008 - not the most current, I know)DS 3.1.0 (+ pat09317)Authentication works fine.But we have an issue with synchronization.On every run it overwrites the department of already existing users. This is not wanted. The setting of the department should not be changed.Settings so far for Synchronization Options:"Synchronize Groups" is unchecked (though this concerns the synchronization of groups)Settings in User Attribute Mapping:"Department" intentionally left blank"Department Mapping" is disabledBut still the department is updated with the default mapping, which is DefaultGroup.Is there a way to prevent this?Best regards, Tom.

Unfortunately it is not possible to run a synch that does not update the department. When you select the 'disable' radio button, that indicates that the synch will not use the departmentMappings table to assign departments, it will just use the value of the specified department attribute.

Your best bet is to actually configure a department attribute, that way you can manage the departments through your LDAP server rather than in Livelink.

Thank you for your input.Unfortunately we have thousands of users with hundreds of deparments. We'll have to discuss internally how this will be solved.Best regards, Tom.
