open documents via EWS

Hi,

We have a requirement to implement a custom built web based front end (MS .NET 3.0) accessing Enterprise Server 9.7.1. We need to be able to search for and open items from LL. I have the search portion working using the search service, but Im not sure how to provide a user the option to open/download a doc (via a hyperlink perhaps) of LL.

Hi, Shakeel.

The DocumentManagement service's GetVersionContents and GetVersionContents methods are probably what you're looking for.

There's more information about downloading content available in the client guide.

Hi Scot,

is it possible to open a file from livelink without having to download it i.e. authenticate yourself then provide user with url (perhaps with the authentication token) that works simmiliar to the 'Fetch' function? to open the th document?
