Displaying 2 objects in 1 line?
General_Dynamics_C4_Systems
Hi, Anybody know how if/how you can display 2 objects in a single row in a LiveReport? (LiveReport format) Example:select d.* from dtree d where subtype=144By having the d.* on there, you'll get a link to each document returned, along with the function menu. But, what if I want to have both the document as well as the parent object? Such as:select d.*, p.* from dtree d, dtree p where d.parentid=p.dataid and d.subtype=144The p.* throws an error instead of returning a clickable link with function menu to the parent object.Thanks.

Hi Anonymous
You can only have one item per line in a Livelink enabled Livereport.
Using your join technique, you can list the parent name if you wish on the same line.
In the additional columns section at the bottom of the edit screen you could add
p.name Parent Folder
for example.
Surely, you would do better to display the hierarchy, so the parent folder appears above the items it contains, not against each one.
If you are only displaying the direct children of a single folder, then presumably you allow the user to choose that folder from the input interface.
Either way, a user could always use the function menu to get to the properties for the chosen item and then navigate back up one level.

Hi,
Anybody know how if/how you can display 2 objects in a single row in a LiveReport? (LiveReport format)
Example:
select d.* from dtree d where subtype=144
By having the d.* on there, you'll get a link to each document returned, along with the function menu. But, what if I want to have both the document as well as the parent object? Such as:
select d.*, p.* from dtree d, dtree p where d.parentid=p.dataid and d.subtype=144
The p.* throws an error instead of returning a clickable link with function menu to the parent object.
Thanks.

The best I can think of is to include a link to the parent (not exactly showing the parent and the function menu). You could do something like...select d.*, '
http://livelink.whatever.com/livelink/livelink.exe?func=ll&objid='
|| d.parentid || '&objaction=view'from dtree dwhere subtype = 144...but if I remember right you have to "tweak" the file autoreport-run.html to allow LiveReports to show links correctly (you can search the KC for that filename to see what I am getting at).Do you have WebReports? I haven't tried what you are asking but as amazing as WebReports are my guess is you could do this no problem.Cheers...
