I have made a LiveReport to find the largest PWS-es. How can I create a link in the results screen to the users PWS? I know creating a WebReport can do this, but I am no expert in creating WebReports. Hi Evert,

Assuming you have a column returned from your LiveReports calledOWNERID all your WebReport would need is:

[LL_REPTAG=OWENERID USERINFO:PWS LLURL:DEFAULTLINK /]

OWENERID contains the userid

USERINFO:PWS converts this to the objectid of the user’spersonal workspace

LLURL:DEFAULTLINK converts the objectid into a URL

All you need to do is stick this in a hyperlink:

BTW a click-thru LiveReport is not the answer, since I want a click-thru to a PWS, not to another LiveReport.

Hi Evert,

The most commonly seen personal workspaceURLs are in the form ?func=ll&objtype=142.

However, there is another way to link to auser’s personal workspace if you know the ID of the personal workspace.

That format is:

?func=ll&objaction=browse&objid=<personalworkspaceid>

Given that your query is already returningthe personal workspace name, you should simply be able to pull the DataID aswell to produce the above URL for each record.

Thanks Appu. Why not use Excel? Because it requires an extra (manual) step outside of Livelink. It would require me to do this manual step everytime I run the report. Building it into the LiveReport makes it a lot easier.

But if this was solved in the year 2000, why did OT not build it into one of its default reports???

Forming the URL is not the problem. Showing it as a clicable link in the LiveReport results is the problem.

I put this in the SQL query: '<A HREF="?func=ll&objtype=142&objaction=browse&userID=' || <userid> || '">PWS' but it shows as text, not as link. I understand this can only be done by changing the autolivereport.html file on the server. I was hoping for another, easier, supported option.

My tought about it but I have not done it yet was to have a javascript that would call the URL of the livereport with the given parameters. ex: xmlhttprequest (/livelink/livelink.exe?func=ll&objId=14506844&objAction=runReport&inputLabel1_ID=4239316&inputLabel2=20)

The result of the livereport is stored in a HTML table. So with Jquery and a plugin, I think this would not be too difficult to extract the table and format it to your taste. It's a "poor man" WebReport solution.

I will do a POC of this in a month or two.

Yes, you can do this as a LiveReport.

You are almost there with your current statement - it does the hard bit already.

I have just had a quick play and got it to work.

Given that you can build the list of sizes and counts and can do this by the ownerid of the dtree object, you would just join that result set back to DTree and select your size, count and the relevant columns of the workspace object - i.e. "Report Fields".

You then get the size and count out by specifying those as additional display columns.

I tweaked your statement to use the negative of KUAF.ID rather than do yet another self-join to DTree to try to make it less likely to stall your Livelink system.

Select %1, VolSize, VolCount from dtree,
   (select dt.ownerid VolOwner, ROUND(SUM (dv.datasize) / (1024*1024),2) VolSize, COUNT (dv.datasize) VolCount
     from DVersData dv, dtree dt

This may be a slow performer on a big installation, but you won't run it very often, will you?

Thanks for posting this example.... There is also a nice plugin for jQuery called dataTables (datatables.net). One could extend your example to transform the LiveReport table and put a dataTables layer on top. Then you could use column sorting (interactively!), search in columns etc out of the box.Marko
