Hello,

We have one of our clients working on a .Net application to our 9.7.1 server. About half the time, he gets the "Could not login with cookie" error. Here's a snippet of his code:

Any idea why this would happen?

I am also getting the same error. "Could not login with cookie"

But, I am trying to call the DocumentManagement service using SOAPUI.

I would also like to know how you fixed it.

You have to provide an OTAuthentication SOAP Header. The value for AuthenticationToken should be the string returned by the call to Authentication.AuthenticateUser().

If you're using IIS, you can configure the virtual directory for the web services to use IWA. There will be updates required to the web.config file in order to leverage Windows security. This will pass the user name in the REMOTE_USER variable to Livelink, which can be used by the Directory Services module to authenticate the user.

That said, I would definitely recommend using the OTAuthentication header as a start as that is a more straightforward configuration.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the explanation. To understand correctly, Here are the steps I need to do to successfully use all the available webservices. Please correct me if I am missing something.

1. Write a JAVA program to create a Authentication token.

2. Create SOAP message with this token in the header.

3. Using endpoint URL and correct soap action, I can call that webservice using any webservice client like SOAPUI,XMLSPY etc.

We use a JAVA based integration tool called JCAPS and use HTTP client to call remote webserivces.

The authentication token is returned by the call to the Authentication service's AuthenticateUser method. You don't necessarily have to use Java.
