Pass parameter from first report to the third level subreport

I am trying to pass a parameter from main report to the subreport and then pass the same parameter (from main report) to the third report. Example: In the subreport (second report) the parameter is passed (from main report) and it's in the select statement as %1. Now I want to pass this %1 (parameter) to the third report. I am not sure how to do this.Did anyone run across this?

Hi Behzad,

 

I think this is possible, but you need to think about the columns of any rows you are playing with.

 

So, the top livereport gets an input parameter from the user.

Lets imagine this is the DataID of an object.

Your query performs a select and you get some rows back.

The output format has to be AutoLiveReport if you want a click through subreport.

So data from one row must be passed in to the subreport as a parameter.

If you have DataId in the columns selected, that is what you specify as the input.

 

Then the same can apply to the nested sub-report.

 

If your parameter is not something you would select, then the simple thing to do is select the parameter as a pseudo column, giving it a name, and then use that.

 

e.g.   select DataId, Name, Subtype, %1 param1 from DTree where ... = %1

 

then pass the column param1 to the sub report.
