Assingnee Email replacement tag

In the workflow map, when I assign an assignee for a step, I want to be able to send him an email using the replacement tag (<AssigneeMail />).

I know we can use <InitiatorMail /> for the initiator.

Is there a replacement tag already defined for the assignee email?

No. Out of the box workflow sends emails using a Process Step,which doesn’t have an assignee. You can use a form or an attribute replacementtag (if you have someone fill out the form or workflow attribute with theappropriate email address).

Also, if you have access to the XML Workflow Extensions module,the email steps are more comprehensive. That module is available for purchaseif you do not already own it.

I did a lot of work in this area, admittedly under pressure so it may not be ideal..

I overrode WFMain->WAPIPkg->ReplaceVariable and added a <DataTypeToEmail_1_3_xxxxx /> tag that takes a user or number attribute, and returns the user's email address. The code already in that feature should help you identify how to load the work package and read the attributes, otherwise lookup WAPI.AccessWork.

We assign steps to users by having attributes populated on start, and assigning those attributes to the steps in the map.
