Replacement tags issue

In my workflow, I want to send an email to the assignee but there is no replacement tag to do that. The only email tag that I found was <InitiatorMail />

I know I can use event trigger script to do this for me.

Any other ways that I can accomplish this?

What is the business case for the email? For example, areyou trying to send the assignee an email that the step has arrived? Doyou need to send the email at a different time than the step is assigned?

Some emails to assignees can be sent automatically be settingNotifications and/or eLink settings. Others can be sent via a processstep to the same person assigned the step (to send a process step to a group,you will need one of the third party modules or do customizationsyourself). To send the email at a different time than the assignment ismade, you would need to acquire a new module that has a “Wait” step,etc.

The best solution for you is dependent upon the business casefor the emails you currently have in mind – you should also consider yourother business processes and how certain email features would better optimizethem, then look for a solution that best meets both your current andanticipated needs.

Without further specifics, this is the best help I canoffer. Perhaps others have suggestions also…

I have not tried this but to a certain extent you can know the step assignee's email using a small javascript excercise.The example webforms lookup example that ships with livelink webforms(now don't ask me where to find that example) shows you how to retreive user's info from KUAF.The underlying premise is if you have a table registered with the livelink system you should be able to get anything like select name,id from KUAF or any other table.There is a function and a request handler that OT provides so basically when you shift out of focus a javascript is triggered which will retreive you the values you asked for and the opener(the window you won't really see) will fill the parent(All plain old javascript)

So at the start of the workflow you might think of something like this

There is a livelink user field.User fills it and you device a cleverly crafted javascript using the webforms datalookup and store that in a text attribute called user's email.You should know for sure because the flicker would most certainly result in filling the field with the users email.

Now in the processstep you would use the email as <DataType_1_4_1_useremail />

Naturally I wrote this response because you are kind of hinting to stay away form eventscript so it is not what you want but it still is a solution albeit a 'kludged' one.

Only if you have time to test my theory.

1- Initiator initiates the workflow as some kind of request.

2- The assignee approves or rejects the request.

3- If approved --> The performer fulfils the request.

4- Process step--> An email is sent to the initiator and the assignee (saying that the request is fulfilled)

This is just a simple scenario, I hope this helps.

So those workflows have different branches to similar steps thateach has its own pre-set assignee? In other words, the evaluate step hasdifferent branches to a number of steps that differ by who is already assignedto complete the step?

Suggestion – after the evaluation step and before each actioneestep, you can place either a milestone step or a process step in series. Ifyou use the milestone step, you can branch the process step from the milestonein parallel with the actionee’s step. The process step from the same milestoneas an actionee step should have the email address for that actionee.

I prefer the use of the milestone because if the process hangsfor any email related reason, the actionee’s step still happens, but placingthe process steps in series before each actionee step does make a less clutteredgraph.

On the other hand, if you need the email after the actionee stepis completed, you can do that instead.

I believe that if this doesn’t meet your process need, you willneed a customization or an additional workflow enhancements module.

First I don't need a milestone step here.

Second in the process step, I need a replacement tag to send an email to the assignee. But there is no <assigneeMail /> out of the box.
