I think the ! needs to be outside the opening parentheses, sotry this:
(&(objectclass=User)(memberof=cn=Livelink Users,cn=Users,dc=uat, dc=nda, dc=gov, dc=uk)(!(userAccountControl=514)))

Excluding Disabled Accounts
Posted by jim.ryder@nda.gov.uk (Ryder, Jim) on 2010/05/21 07:15
Hello, If I set my User Search Filter to this: (&(objectclass=User)(memberof=cn=Livelink Users,cn=Users, dc=uat, dc=zzz, dc=yyy, dc=uk)(userAccountControl=514)) Then the query works - though this will have the effect of returning disabled accounts. So, I change to (&(objectclass=User)(memberof=cn=Livelink Users,cn=Users, dc=uat, dc=nda, dc=gov, dc=uk)(!userAccountControl=514)) Note the "!" before userAccountControl. When I try and sync I get the following error: Synchronization completed with error: Error searching LDAP. So I'm guessing it must be the "!" which causes it? Is there another syntax for NOT that I'm missing? Thanks.
