Listing Classified Objects

Is there any way of using a LAPI call to retrieve a list of items attached to a particular classification?

I've used RMGetClassifyInfo() to find out which classification is attached to a particular object, but I really need to be able to do it the other way around.

Sorry to say, but there is no LAPI function to retrieve theobjects to which a classification has been assigned.

Whilst there is no direct lapi call for this depending on what you are trying to do there maybe workarounds.If you put connect logs in a livelink server and click on the classification tree util it shows the items in it which I think is what you are after,once you have the dataid's,you can find thir extra classification/RMclassification info I guess.So when I tested this I found form my classification I was interested it was doing this

select * from les971.livelink.WebNodes where DataID in
( select ID from les971.livelink.LLClassify where CID=8931 AND lower(Status)='accepted' )

Now both webnodes and dtree are allowed in lapi to do ListNodes or ListObjects but the fact that this is a join makes it kind of difficult.If one had a willing DBA a view could be kept in the LL schema.Or if one knew how to write a LR and then call the LR thru LAPi that could work as well.

I found on another post that the RM_Multiclass table holds the "classification to classified object" relationship so I've got around this limitation by creating a LiveReport to do the following:

select r.nodeid, d.name from rm_multiclass r, dtree d where r.nodeid = d.dataid and r.classid = %1

I then call the report using LAPI.
