API error adding permissions to a folder

Whenever I call the script DAPI.AddNodeRight, I am getting the api error 662241300 - "could not add permissions to folder" - anyone seen this before? What is the cause?

Hope to hear from someone soon!! I've been struggling with this the last few days.,

I have not seen thiserror but some things to check:

Who are you logged inas? Does that account have permission permission?

Is the userID that youare trying to add a valid user or group? For example, are you trying to add aproject group to a folder?

Hi Howard,

I am logged in as the admin user. This is a valid group - not a project group - that i am trying to add to the folder. I can do it through the UI - the API is however failing.

I ran some connect logs and the only error it shows is "Could not create ACL". Any idea what this means?

Hi Aruna,

I suspect you are trying to add an ACL for a user/group that already exists on the item. If one already exists you need to Update it instead.
