Status page while program is executing

Hi,

I have a request handler that does a bulk update of the permissions on various folders in the system. When a user launches this request handler, I assign a requestID that is then returned to the user for tracking.

However, since the output is generated only after the RH completes executing, this requestID is not visible to the user until the very end. Instead, I'd like him to be redirected to a page which has request ID as soon the program starts executing, while the program runs in the background.

How can I accomplish this?

I am not aware of this particular feature. Can you give me some detail on how to use it?

Now I stepped in it!

It has been a looong time since I used it so I don't know the syntax. I suggest you look bring up Builder and search for it. I wish I could give you more on it. It is one of those 'hidden' functions available.

BrowserBegone() is a useful function that RH's have.You have to just implement some logic for that.For simple cases one could create a file share and drop a file there.The simplest example that I could find is here webadmin:AdminRequesthandler:Sysreport and sysreport2.sysreport2 just redirects the user to another RH called func=admin.sysreportstatus that is constantly checking to see if the sysreport is finished or not.trace that you will find it interesting.

If it si confusing still ping the forum I have used it in many of my modules,just trying to show what makes sense is the problem
