Could not Authenticate using AuthenticateUser() Method

I have deployed EWS on IIS v 6.0 and i am running Livelink v9.7.1 with all the latest patches installed. I am using VS.NET 2008, and i am able to include all service reference without any issues.

When i try to authenticate programatically from .NET using Authentication.AuthenticateUser method, I get an weird exception. I have attached the screenshot for the same. Immediate help would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

I think there's something wrong in your Web.config file in the appSettings section, probably the port number or the encoding. What settings are you using?

You are absolutely correct, I was using the wrong encoding. I reverted it to Default in the web.config file, Its now working, Thanks so much.

Hi, Vijhay.

You can also use an encoding of "UTF8" (note there is no hyphen) if you're using a UTF-8 instance of Content Server.
