UserID in Categories

I'm trying to figure out how to tell whether a category has a attribute with an IntegerValue(or StringValue) which is an ID for a user or a group or if it's just a number. I'm using the LL EWS. Can anyone show me how to do this or if it's not included in the current version?

Hi, André.

There's a specific type of attribute called UserAttribute that will contain IDs of users. Its values should be instances of IntegerValue.

But how do i use this? If i use GetType().Name on the DataValue, it will only show that it's an IntegerValue. At the moment my code is something like this:

switch(dataValue.GetType().Name)
{
       case "IntegerValue":
                   IntegerValue iv = (IntegerValue)dataValue;
                   ....
                   break;
      .....
}

What should i do in order to use the UserAttribute?

Hi, André.

I believe you'll need to access the Category definition to determine the type of attribute that IntegerValue refers to. You should be able to use the Key and Type from the AttributeGroup to call GetAttributeGroupDefinition. From there you'll get the Attributes corresponding to the DataValues that you have.
