Hi,
It wouldn’t help with the execution time directly but you could use a WebReport and have it write to a document once per day on a schedule – e.g. during the evening when the system load is low. Rather than people viewing the report directly (and therefore execute the SQL statement) you could just have them access the document.
If you needed something more structured than a document in the output – e.g. so that you can run further queries on (sorting, filtering, etc.), you could use a WebReport to write it’s results into a Web Form (using underlying SQL storage). With this in place you could run queries on the subset of data in the form – I guess this would be giving you something close to a view anyway.
Cheers,Lee.

We have Livelink 9.5 SP1 and Oracle 10G. We have a folder where there are 364 sub-folders and the total document count for all of them is more than 1 million. Now we have a requirement where we have to apply categories to some of the documents under that folder and then display the category information along with the document links using Livereports. We are using the 'Connect by prior Id' in our query, and due to the large number of documents, the Livereport does not run faster to display the output, and sometimes never completes. Can anybody please advise other options such as if there are any other VIEWS etc for categories information, and if we can use something else instead of Oracle's Connect By Prior Id clause, or if anybody has used stored procedures etc. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
