dateModified or size or number of items in the folder

Hi all,

I been trying to get the dateModified, size or the number items in the folder. Lapi only returns me those info of one level. As in when files are added or edited in inner folders of the selected folder, the dateModified and the number of items are not changed.

Is there a way or is there a attribute whereby i can know that the folders has new items added or deleted?
