CopyObject and ModifyDate

I'm using the LAPI CopyObject function to copy a template folder structure but the CreateDate and ModifyDate of the original folders is maintained for the copied subfolders. Is there any way of updating these to the current date?

This is causing confusion for our users - "why is the modified date 16 Dec 2010 when I only asked for the folder to be created on 19 Jan 2011?".
