need LAPI Access to RSI

Hi,

I posted this question on this forum earlier and it got moved but I really need to hear from those on the LAPI forum as it is mostly about LAPI.

I need to get the RSI information for RMClassifications. From the prior feedback there appears to be no way to get this without having a document? This doesn't make any sense to me. How is it possible that something as simple as getting the RSI for a RMClassification requires running a query against the database and is not exposed at all through the API?

Am I missing something here. It seems like a very simple expectation. Is there no way programatically to get the RSI of a classification object without referencing a document?

Please don't move my post again...This really is a post about LAPI and belongs on this forum.

Seems there is no function in the RM LAPI extension which would give youthat information. (As I understand--I am not familiar with the RMstuff.)I think this information can be retrieved by means of the RM WebServiceRMGetClassificationInfo call, seeWell, that may no help you if you cannot use the WebService interface.There is a way to call the (Web)Service functions via LAPI by issuing aspecially constructed LAPI call but this is not possible 'out of thebox'.However, since the RM API is maintained by the RM development team youmay like to post your question and/or feature request to the RecordsManagement Discussion also.

Sure, you can build your own LAPI functions but as I understood it is expected that the requested functionality is provided by the RM API out of the box.Imho it would easier to learn how the Content Web Services can be used the `old LAPI?way, i.e. without the need to deploy a full Web Services stack at the server side. It is possible but the CWS are a _different_ API than LAPI, regardless whether they are really used as Web Services or LAPI-like.And, afaik, this way to call them is not supported officially.A good starting point maybe the FAQ at
