CWS on IIS 7

First of all, I'm new to web services. Second, I'm new to IIS 7. New to a lot of stuff going on here, actually. Looks like the documentation that comes with CWS is targeted at IIS 6 or 5. I have never set up web services on either of those web servers, either. Now, I'm trying to configure web services for the first time on IIS 7.

So, what's different? I'm trying to follow the instructions under ".NET Web Service Installation", but not getting very far. This is IIS 7, Windows 2008, CS2010. Just want to get started by getting the web services up to the point that I can start playing with them.

Hi, Brett.

Have you run into an error?

Make sure that IIS has ASP.NET and WCF enabled (you can do this through Server Manager, I believe).

After that, simply create an Application Pool (or you can use the default) and then create an Application called "les-services" and point it at OTHome\webservices\dotnet\les-services. If you're not using the default port number for Content Server, configure it in Web.Config.

Those are the basic steps, but if there's something that needs clarification, please don't hesitate to ask.

I found the CS10 documentation on the EWS on the knowledge ceneter, which of course is very similar to the docs that come with CS10, with just some key words changed, and it says to create an "application", not a "virtual directory". I didn't realize it would make much difference, but it does, and that's what got it running for me.
