Calling a Request Handler from a Script

Is there a way to call a request handler from a script?

I have created a nightly job in the opentext.ini file that calls a script file in the scripts folder. I would like to be able to call a request handler from the script.

If there is a way, would someone please provide example code?

If I am reading this right you created a agent and have a deidicated section like [wfagent] fro it.

But depending on your coding if you made the re-suabale code as a root->Utils Object and add it to global then your script can get it as well as a RH can get it

See if this document i did gives you some insight,what I do is create an agent using some known code,it is available in the kb and my own cheat sheet for that exists if you want to see that.

Also there is a RH called agent.runagent I think,It can run a specific agent so it behaves like a RH

but it is meant to be used for developmental work so cannot use that in a prod env

Now that I read it you want your script to call a RH

Could you elaborate how and why you would like to do it

Because calling a RH expects that a dispatch has occurred in the

Livelink server,as if you are typing something like mycode.myrh,

if the code the RH executes can be globalized

You could have your script spawned thread execute it as well

Depending on which request handler we are talking about you have different options.

<![if !supportLists]>1. <![endif]>The func parameter is not LL: From the RH subsystem get the correct object, create a TMP object from it, create the Request record, call its execute function, delete the TMP object.

<![if !supportLists]>2. <![endif]>LL Request handler that is implemented as Action script: Get the correct webNode, create the parm assoc, call the action script.

<![if !supportLists]>3. <![endif]>LL Request handler that is implemented as command action: ?get the correct action object, create the parameters, call the Execute function for the action object.

The difficult part is to create the correct Request and/or parm variables.
