open a file

is it possible to open a file using WS from an authenticated URL? i have the way where you construct the url to login and then use the nexturl action to point to the onject i need, but i was wondering if there was a way to send the authentication token or set the cookie vlues then send the the url without having it login in first?

Hi, Zak.

The authentication token can be used as a value for LLCookie, provided the client machine is the same as the machine running the application server (due to client IP address verification).

Hi Scot,

I've created a cookie called LLcookie and set its value to the authentication token. I also have all tiers of the solution i.e LES, llWebServices and custom webapplication on one server but after setting the cookie(which I've confirmed exists) I try to open a file using the func=doc.fetch command, I'm always redirected to login...then it opens. Is there anything else that needs to be done?

Hi Scot,

figured it out. Had to ease the ip-authentication a bit to allow calls from the calling application as well as add the calling application to the trusted web site referers section under security configuration section. Works like a charm.
