I need Install the Indexes in a Server Index separate

Hello everybody;

My scenario is as follows

I have installed on a server : Server Livelink Livelink ( Front -End ).

In another server I have installed the database.

The Storage server is in another.

Now , I just want to know how to install the index on another server???

Please help I need to perform this operation.

Looks like you are in a hurry and don't want to read a lot.

FE server-Livelink service+Admin svc(turned off)+DB client

BE Server-Livelink svc+admin svc+db client

Storage Server-Your name for where to store files.Create a share and make sure the service user has full control.In livelink parlance we call it the EFS.

Usual procedure for ease of installing is this way.Install what you think is the Admin server.Connect it to the database and complete any optional modules install.At the end of which livelink will ask where you want yout search indexes to be made.Note this refers to search indexes and not related to any DB indexes.When you get 'Congratulation's' you move to the FEnds.In this case when the installer says do you want to make this the 'Default Admin Server' you say no because your Default Admin server is the other machine.If you say yes livelink code will try to move all the search components from the first server(many times if you don't know what you are doing this will end up in a mess and you will have to call OT support).When all the installs are done keep the Admin Svcs of the FEnd disabled or manaul because they are not used by the system unless they are registered in the livelink database.,you will want them around if the default dies adn you want to convert one of them temporarily.

Since you posted in development if you are running builder unless you want to do search related work you may want to stop the admin service,lest you will get bombarded by search debug info.

Since you have done the FE first you might try to look at my posting and see what common sense that can be attributed to your second install.

I thought he meant he installed the Archive Server not an EFS. I could be wrong though. He should go to the Knowledge Center and find a Case Study on the Champion Toolkit. Here are two that should apply:

Greg you could be right I saw that he was having trouble on Index server which I reckoned was livelink related.If the guy has problesm to the archive perhaps he will post and we will all help him out.

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Livelink now works great. Thanks to the help forums is faster solve a problem.

Now I'm trying to copy everything I have in production (FE, DB, Storage) and bring to a development environment (Test), the problem that I found here was not like changing the path to the index as it continues to point to the production server and I do not want that I want the index to point to another server from my development environment.

Someone is familiar with such problems.

Essentially in a cloning OP you have to delete certain cfg files,delete the existing admin server info,change the EFs or archive server.With some experience you will understand that ,I am now adept at cloning livelink+ archive server beacuse I have done it found what to change it takes some trial and error and understanding your system.
