Document Upload architecture question

Hello, I am trying to design a system that uploads tens of thousands of documents that may be up to 1MB in size or more. We will be using Content Server 10 and utilizing Web Services. I understand from the OT documentation that uploading is done via streaming only as far as I can tell. Would it be possible for a file reference to be made as I am concerned that it would overload the single point of streaming requests (middleware). I think that the LAPI AddDocument allowed for this; but I did not see an equivalent in Web Services.

I have also considered the use of Object Importer which I then lose some programmatic control over; but we are confident that it can handle the load.

Hi,

The idea of streaming is that it does not use a lot of resources (CPU/Memory). As long as you don't create lots of uploads in parallel, you should be OK. If you are concerned about the performance of your system, put some idle time between every upload.
