SearchService javax.xml.ws.soap.SOAPFaultException

Hi folks,

I'm new in Livelink and its webservices, but I'm getting closer to the topic

Now I got a problem while using the search service on our testsystem. For the first try I want to create a simple search request (I'm using C#) via the webservices.

Now the simple request to retrieve the available "DataCollections" failed with that FaultException.

My Code:

OTSearch.SearchServiceClient searcClient = new OTSearch.SearchServiceClient();
OTSearch.OTAuthentication searchAuth = new OTSearch.OTAuthentication();
searchAuth.AuthenticationToken = authenticationToken;

Hi Danny,

Do you have the full exception available?
It should contain more information about the failure.
If you have thread logging enabled on the Content Server side, it could provide more information as well. Ideally, thread logging is captured with [general] Debug=2 and [options] wantLAPILogs=TRUE.

It's odd that you're not seeing more information.

As I mentioned earlier, I think you might need to start looking at the thread logs on the server side to troubleshoot this further.

Problem "solved". It was a permission problem. I was not allowed to access the Livelink's search functionality in general.

I think, in such cases the exception should contain some more informations about whats the problem.

I'd like to log something in our issue tracking system for this, so I'd like to get as much clarification on your permission problem.

When you say you were "not allowed to access" the search functionality, what do you mean by that?
What setting did you tweak to resolve the issue?

Hi,

I am using the same Search Method through Soap UI. I am not getting an error but the Include Count in result is 0.

The Actual Count is 2.
