Finding Lowest Folder Level

Hi Forum

I was wondering if someone on here could give me some guidance on the following.

I am trying to list out a folder structure and the access permissions for the folders in the structure, which i have completed and it is working perfectly.

Now what i would like to do is just list the lowest level folder in the structure , anyone know how i might approach this ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In oracle .so if there are 4 levels in a

Connect by structure when you reach 4

It should say 3 or 4 I don't have a ora instance

To play with now.using that creatively

You could probably limit in your query say

Max(level) something like that

That would be my line of research

Hi,

we are using this script

select lpad('.', LEVEL-2,'.') || '|' || name || '|/livelink-server/open/' || dataid ||'||||1' ordnerlevel from dtree_dtreeancestors start with dataid = %1 and ancestorid=2000 connect by prior dataid = abs(parentid) and abs (parentid) = ancestorid ORDER SIBLINGS BY name

as livereport to get an overview of the folder structures. I think you can rewrite the script to get the deepest folder.

Don't use 2000 as %1 but only folders below to get results.

parameter is a number (the folder id)

Hi there

Thanks for your reply.

I was aware of the Level within oracle but my problem is i will not know the level before hand.

I have just thought about something though, if i export the info to excel using live reports and also output the level as a data column i could of course simply filter the info.
