CS10 Columns and metadata types

Hi all,

Has anyone added metadata types to the columns infrastructure, orphaned off $LLIAPI.MetadataType.ColumnMetadataType or any of the children objects?

I am not talking about adding data sources, but new types

I'm trying to acheive this for a custom category attribute type, which is essentially a String type (a kind of popup with values defined either globally or locally). So I've orphaned $LLIAPI.MetadataType.ColumnMetadataType.StringType and overriden fType to set it to the value for the custom category attribute type.

The problem I have is that having created a column using the custom CategoryColumnMetadataSource I've created for the custom attribute type, I can't get it to build - the column is always 'building'. I haven't overriden PopulateColumnTable as I think it should be the same as that for $LLIAPI.MetadataSource.ColumnMetadataSource.CategoryColumnMetadataSourceStringField.

Would be grateful for any thoughts / ideas.
