Custom create date for newly created folders and documents

Hi,

Is it possible to customize the create and or modify date using WS? For example I want to upload into LL/CS10 a document from the file system and preserve the original create date.

I have looked at CreateDocument and CreateNode but is not obvious to me if this can be done and how.

best option is thru the import module. On our side we have developpe a little .net application for the IM team so they have an nice interface to create the .xml file where they can put the souce folder and the target livelink doc. In the .xml we specify that we keep the original create date

I have tried using LL_CreateObjectEx() to add CreateDate into createInfo LLVALUE. The object was created, and checking the logs on server side my CreateDate is sent, but the new object's CreateDate is actualy the current date.

Can you give more details how to do it?

Using WS I was trying to set CreateDate while calling CreateDocument. As a result Versions/FileCreateDate property is set to what I have sent, while CreateDate is set to current datetime.

Is that the right behavior?

Hi Cristian,

Setting a node's create and/or modify date is currently not possible with CWS. These values are just set to the current time when the node is created/updated in Content Server.
