Sample java code for accessing PWS?

Hi,

Does anyone have some sample code for accessing a user's personal workspace?  There's 2 things I'm having trouble with:

1)  How do you get the id of a user's pws?

2) When you make the doc.AccessPersonalWS(personalInfo) call what do you need to set in the PersonalInfo LLValue?  Just the ID?

In LAPI(you should be using EWS) AccessPersonalWS is a call that is handled by the logon user’s credentials.

For e.g if you are a user to livelink and you have a userid/password once you create a session you have identified to the livelink system who you are so

It is a convenience function or in other words every login user has his/her own workspace.

This is the reason why you get only OUTPUT and not INPUT

If you are using a SA user for creating the session(like the user ‘Admin’) then once you create a session you can use the “impersonate user”

Function which will allow you to call any valid user without his/her password. at that point if you AccessPersonalWS it will be theirs.

 

Also PWS is a subtype 142 so you can using a livereport or direct sql query find all PWS’s in your system

Assuming you then have SA rights you can do things there(PWS is a volume so its volume id may come into play)

 

All of these calls are now available  within Enterprise Web Services so you will get more support there.

 

The sample code is in lapi course book. It is one of the simplest things you can do.If you cannot get it in a timely manner I will post something.
