Authentication token

I have some questions regarding the authentication token retrieved via the web services.

1. What is the lifetime (or timeout) of the authentication token?

2. Is it possible to change the lifetime of it ?

3. Is it possible to use the authentication token retrieved from the DocumentManagement in SearchService ?

I am trying to optimize my code and I want to avoid retrieving the the authentication token each time i need to call the documentmanagementclient or the searchserviceclient. What is the best practice?

Any input is appreciated

Hi Peter,

If you are using Content Server authentication then the token expiration time is the same as a cookie used in a browser session. This setting can be configured in admin pages under the Configure Security Parameters page.

Also, if you are using CS 10 there is a method in the Authentication service to get the token's expiration date, Authentication.GetSessionExpirationDate().
