Enable eLink and Remove Permissions

Stadler_Michael

Hy,

I'm trying to enable the email notification for specified directories, and I wonder if you could do this via java ?

Another question would be if it's possible to completely remove Permissions from one directory by one single method call ?

Thanks for every helpful answers.

cheers

Hi Michael,

There is currently no API available for modifying notification preferences on objects.

In regards to removing permissions via one method call, have a look at the DocumentManagement service's updateNodeRights / updateNodeRightsContext methods.
The updateNodeContext method has an optional parameter to propagate the changes down to an object's children via the propagation parameter.

Hy,

first of all thanks to Kyle for your reply !

In my specific task I have to remove permissions for a complete group of users. So far I have the code that it removes and edits permissions and rights for the authenticated user. Is it possible to do this on a whole group also ?

Thanks

Michael,

Yes, it is possible.

A group or a user can be an entry in the ACL for an item and as such, they can equally be removed from the ACL.

Kyle
