Pointing link(alias) to external url?

Hello Everyboody,

I'd like to ask you if its possible using LAPI to point SHORTCUT(alias) to external(outside livelink) item?

What I've learnt is that the SHORTCUT(alias) can ONLY points to object in LiveLink (by id of the target object). Is that correct? Is that correct that only way to do that is by using URL object ?

Yes, it is. Regardless what API you use, Shortcut and Generation (References) can point only to a LL node by the OM definition.

URL objects are meant to point to any URL and they can be created by LAPI too.
