Selectively list nodes

I am using Content Server 10. Web Service and I am trying to find a API to use.

I want to selectively retrieve a list of nodes, say I want to retrieve a list of nodes (under a given node) that start with the letter "F".

Please advise how to achieve this via DocMan API or some other way.

That was a similar but different one. In that question, I was asking filtering based on a specific word.

In today's question, I was asking a wild card search, say I want to list all folders that start with "F", if I use listNodeByPage, I will get all nodes which has a letter "F" in it. say in a situation with three folders "F123456", "F234567" and "ModelFolder", list NodesByPage("F") gave me all three because they all have "F" in it. if there is a way, as in old LAPI to use query, if web service has an API allowing us to specify listNodes(parentId, "F%"), it would only list "F123456" and "F234567", and listNodes(parentId, "%F%") will sure return all three.

I think it could be an enhancement for the future.

Sorry; you are correct. There is no way to specify the beginning of a line or the beginning of a word using the filter (that I know of... Spaces are stripped and regex doesn’t work).

In the mean time, I also had a ticket opened to customer support and they confirmed the feature not available. I had elaborated the detail and the rep helped add the feature to the future web service API list. I thought this could be a useful feature to have, by looking at some old code written in C++ with LAPI, query on wild card was widely used.
