Date As Prompt & User Input

Hi All:

I created a report and have included the date as start and end dates as the prompts of a Live-Report and have included the User Input 1and User Input 2 as the two user inputs for the date.

What i have noticed that the report is not able to fetch the records for the current date, i already have tried with auditdate between %1 and % 2 and also the auditdate >= %1 and auditdate <= %2 to check if that helped.

When i make the date to be higher then the today's (current date+1) the report is able to fetch the desired results for the activities till current, weird..Any suggestions?

Livelink uses the database server time could it be set to GMT or a TZ that is forward of your browser?

also if you are using sqlserver probably getDate() may tell you the current date you could check that.

if you turn TZ offset in livelink then it basically will show you the browser time so it could look like your current time zone

in reality the db records times in whatever it is set at.

I would definitely start looking at your sqlserver livelink timezone and locale.

Also how are you handling the dateparts? can we see an example

This I beleive is today 5/8/2012 00:00:00(that is midnight)assuming you create a document today it possibly

has a time stamp like 5/8/2012 09:15:45 so if you are not handling the datepart correctly then the > than covers that.

In oracle one uses trunc(date) to not consider the time parts sqlserver also has similar functions to handle it

Thanks, here is what i did and testing now, it seems to work perfect.

Cast(DAuditNew.AUDITDATE as date) BETWEEN cast(@var1 as date) and cast(@var2 as date) .

So SQL has Cast function to eliminate the time component similar to trun in oracle.
