User permission using LES Services

Hi,

 

We are developing .Net application which needs to integerate with CS10.

 

we able manage upload/list files from sepecific process folder (using LES services)

 

Our concern is how can we control the user permission in CS10. (Assume we have both internal Active Directory & External users non-AD users)

 

The application has various Role and Users will be added in differnet stage we need to give all participant to min 'see the content' on the specific process folder.

 

what is the best practise to control such persmission to that specific folder (using LES services).

Whatever you do livelink will always check who on the node gets to see it and by far what is the maximum right they have.If this project is about showing objects and noibody really has time to model permissions that is add new users to groups,revoke etc  then you are kind of making a anonymous webserver approach.So either evaluate whether content really needs to be controlled in livelink or alternatively work off the "Public Access" privilege.Simply put every user in livelink may have login+PA priv.If the PA on the node is set to 'S,SC' that is all you need.You may just have to put PA S,SC at a convenient folder and let new nodes inherit that right.Then you don't need any programming
