Hi Forum
I was wondering if anyone can give me any guidance on how to decode the Intrest Level and the EventId Bit Mask in the NotifyInterest2 table
Regards
Mike.

Hi Bhupinder
Thanks for your reply, even though i am a little confused as to how i can decode this within my SQL
I dont suppose you have any piece of SQL showing the decoding method.
I have this example sent to me a while back from my colleague Colin Sim
Who has set Notification of Discussions or Task/Task List for MS SQL
selectkuaf.name "Login", kuaf.firstname "First Name", kuaf.lastname "Last Name", dtree.dataid "Item ID",dtree.name "Name of Discussion, Task/Task List", InterestLevel "Report#",
notifyinterests2.EventIDMask "Event Mask",( case notifyinterests2.EventIDMask when 2 then 'Topic Added to Discussion'when 4 then 'Reply Added to Discussion'when 6 then 'Topic & Reply Added to Discussion'when 8 then 'Add Item on Task List'when 8192 then 'Item Status Change'when 8198 then 'Topic & Reply Added to Discussion or Item Status Changes'when 8200 then 'Add Item & Item Staus Change on Task List'else 'Not specified' end )"Event being Notified"
from notifyinterests2, kuaf, dtreewhere notifyinterests2.userid=kuaf.idand notifyinterests2.nodeid=dtree.dataidand (dtree.subtype=204 or dtree.subtype=206 or dtree.subtype=215)

Thanks for this i was already looking into it too and even though the solution you sent covered if they select one intrest it did not cover all so i am going down the following approach
Basically trying to cover all the variations, well only the ones i am concerned about i will then use an Oracle Decode statement to get the values.
Thanks again for your reply.
Hi,
thanks for sharing this.
I have the following Issue:
We need Notifications for dynamic generated Folder. Based on Naming-Conventions and Attributs, i know, which User needs Notification on which (newly created) folder. We should innitiate those Notifications, whithout that each User needs to add the notification himself (on folder they even do not know, that they (newly) exist).
I see 2 Approaches:
a) Doing somthing by Sheduled Live/Webreport
b) updating the Notification Table "automatically" and use the default Notification
Even i know, we should never do such things on Database level, i prefere the approach b) ... Any comments to that?
