How to search within a certain folder?

Hi,

I want to start a search within a certain folder. E.g. a folder with the objectID=41167 similar to a search from a certain location.

If I execute a search with the URL below

http://localhost/OTCS/livelink.exe?func=search&within1=metadata&where1=sample&boolean2=and&lookFor2=complexquery&where2=(OTLocation:41167)

it does not work. I don't get only the objects with the attribute "sampl" but also the folder itself (Nickname=41167).

What is wrong with this search URL?

HI Bernhard,

Does folder 41167 contain "sampl" in its metadata?  If so, the search seems to be working as expected.  OTLocation is unique for every object as it ends with the object DataId itself. 

If you don't want the container returned, you can use OTParentID for finding just the immediate children of a container.  If that isn't acceptable, you will have to exclude the container using DataID with your original OTLocation query.  OTParentID was introduced in CS 10.0.
