Hi all,

I tried to follow this recomendations from a previous forum:

select name, dataID from DTREE where dataID=%1

Inputs: Container, Prompt: Select a folder

Format: AutoLiveReport

Param %1: User Input 1

Click-thru SubReport: Container Contents

Sub-Report Param 1: dataID

SubReport:

Title: Container Contents

select * from DTREE where parentID=%1

Inputs: Container, Prompt: Select a folder

Format: LiveReport

Param %1: User Input 1

But one i hit the "Browse for a Container..." it does not allow me to select anything, there is not select link on the action column.

Do you know why this could be happening?

Hi Orlando

You have not said what version of Livelink or Content Server you are using.

I recreated you reports in Content Server 10 and it works without changes.

I ran the first report, have a link to the right of the input box “Browse for a container….”

When I click it, the pop-up window [targetbrowse] appears and I can navigate to my choice of start container.

The pop-up will re-use the previous location you stood at when last displayed.

So you may need to click the pull down (towards top left) to step to the Enterprise Workspace or some other start location first.

The action column will only contain an entry on a row that can be selected.

So folder objects, for example or other valid container type objects will have Select in the action column.

Screenshots might help me spot something you have wrong.

Otherwise I suggest you log a ticket with OpenText Customer Support.

Hi Lindsey,

I am working with OT ECM 9.7.1, but Maybe I am bot undertanding the concepts rigth.

So far I understand that Container only represents folders and nodeId represent any kind of item even my workspace right?

Is there any special condition for the report and subreport? I mean, I still having problems with the root report because the Details link is not provided so I can't navigate to the subreport. I was Wondering if I need to have an special condition like the report should only bring folders?

I am attaching some screen shots of what I configured so far and the results.

Hi Orlando

Ah – the picture was worth a thousand words…

You selected LiveReport: output format for the outer report.

You need to change it to Autolivereport, as per your list of instructions.

LiveReport: format makes big changes to the presentation – specifically it is for DTree objects so they will be given the correct icon and content menu.

If you really wanted that output you can make life easy by selecting like this…

Select %2 from DTree where….

%2 = Report Fields (so it is substituted with all the columns that are necessary to support that output format.

Change your outer report to Autolivereport and it should work fine.

Hi Lindsay,

I could get the details link with your recommendation, but I can't link the report and sub report, when I click the details link, the sub report tells me that there is no results, but it should be a parameters problem since if I enter to the subreport directly and select the same node id as I use in the main report it brings me results.

I am attaching screens in order to explain myself better.

Hi,

As I can see in the URL parameters when I execute the sub report by clicking the details link:

&objAction=RunReport&inputLabel1=An%20unknown%20feature%20was%20specified

There is an error passing the parameters, but I can't imagine what.

Any idea would be appreciated.

Hi Orlando,

Sorry – it was a public holiday here yesterday.

So do you have this working now or not?

If not, can you export your two Livereports (go to Admin.Index then LiveReport Administration) and email them to me?

It is hard to try to recreate this accurately as you have a function that looks like it is expanding custom attributes.

You might see more useful information in the Livelink logs as you try to execute the click-thru report.
