Help! MoveObject LAPI call and permission inherit

Hello,

I am using a LAPI call moveobject to move a document from one folder to another and I am noticing that the document carries forward it's permissions. Is there anyway to force the document to inherit the permssions of the parent folder that it is being moved to?

LAPI when RM is not present will obey by this screen cap. ?func=admin.AccessControl .Your lapi call will read that info within oscript.

When a System has RM then it can change its behavior or trump the setting I think although not I am not sure about it

Sorry it looks like lapi will look at it if volumes were different not necessarily folders within EWS

if you had a folder in EWS called My folder with ID 12345 and you moved some items in it to your PWS then both ownerid’s are different(meaning different workspaces)

You have to sync the permission with the parent folder for every single object you moved

dafer you move. It's a different step. You need to use SetObjectRight to delete the old permission first then add the permission setting from the parent folder.

The Move operation will inherit permissions when the new location is in a different volume. As a workaround, you can first move the item to your Personal Workspace followed by a move to the location of interest. That should force the inheritence you require.
