AD Authentication

Good Day,

I am trying to build an intranet applicaiton and display content from CS10 on the Intranet based on user credentials.

The CS10 works on Intefrated Windows Authentication.

Can anyone share code that could achieve the IWA authentication with C# or VB.NET? Also is there a way to reduce the authentication time. Currently the authentication and generation of the token takes atleast 30 seconds ... this is an unacceptable response time.

I did not read your question carefully the authentication token or cookie that is sent to your browser/application is roughly equivalent to the same amount it will take for a webgui user.So if the webgui takes 30 secs then you should look for it.Common things one looks for is the livelink infrastructure have enough resources/threads,is there a high latency in your network that kind.

Since a API call does not generate HTML to show your browser it should be faster

This is what I saw in my builder window.You can get thread timings logs and o parse it for usage patterns by using the not free Performamance Analyzer tool.I cannot help you with interpreting the timing logs you have to enroll yourself in a class to do that or search older forum topics where it has been discussed

Roughly in my situation when I typed login and got my cookie with a browser

When I hit it with my C# application roughly a second or even lesser than that

The administrative settings help you to prolong the cookie duration and is found in the admin command

?func=admin.securityvars when you are on that page click "Help for this page" to see what all the individual things mean.
