Simpliest way to search specific subtypes

Hi,

I'm wondering what is the best way to search specific subtypes. For example, we want the search to return only documents and URL (let's say user cannot choose for now ).

Is it

&where1=("OTSubType":"****")&where2=("OTSubType":"yyy") ?

or is there a syntax to say "or" ?

What would my HTML form look like ?

Hi Guillaume,

Use the &boolean2 parameter to OR together your two where clauses.

i.e. &where1=("OTSubType":"****")&where2=("OTSubType":"yyy")&boolean2=or

Since OTSubType is a single token region, you may also use qlrange to search a | delimited set of values.

i.e. &where1=([ qlregion "OTSubType" ] qlrange "136|144|0" )

Can I simply write the where1 and where2 parameters in text inputs ?

What about the qlrange method ?

Hi Guillaume,

The qlrange syntax will perform better especially for longer sets of subtypes.

It's hard for me to comment on your application which uses the Search API. But text form field entries should work for basic hard coded terms like this.
