Customization Doubt

Hi guys!

I'm learning all about customizing the content server and I got stuck on something.

When I use appearances I can customize anything surrounding the content area, but then the way the content area looks can get a little out of context, comparing to the other areas.

Is there anyway to customize the content area? If so, what's the best way to do it?

I guess it's possible using Oscript (not sure if so, nor how to), but is there an easier or more direct way?

The webgui that you see contains embedded oscript within html Oscript developers call this weblingo.Over the years a lot of re-usable files have been developed so you do not have to code everything that you see like the button bar,menu bars etc.Appearances are a quick way to hide/show certain elements of the webgui so if it is not working the way you may hve to look in the code and who knows you may create your own appearance.

At one point I haveseen two other products I have no knowledge in CS10 if that is what you are using

XML appearances which involved xml style and language ways to skin the look and feel
XMLExport with style sheeting which is really done at the browser after the response is painted.

Increasingly livelink has Jquery bundled with it so whatver is possible with jquery you may be able to do as most of the stuff is Ajax/JSON stuff.I created a very simple search customization for 9.7.1 it is in my blog livelink.in

If you learn oscript which is not that easy for starting people it may very well pay off.

I think that Appearance is a good module, but it could be much better with not so much effort. I suggest you to have a look at CustomizationRT and at possibility of extendingAppearance module by yourself.
