Downlaod office documents as web page

I'm wondering if its possible to acces the view as web page functioniality via web services.

What we want to do is to display word documents as a html pages in external web site and in effect view tema as they were pages on the external site.

There is a need to generate public view acces for our usera to a Quality handbook (ISO 27001) contained in a set od word documents in a compound folder on Content server.

Is this possible with web services, or any other way ?

I think you should talk to some senior oscripters/search people for this.Many pieces of this puzzle exists in standard products in livelink.The view as webpage has been in livelink for at least 15 to 20 years .It has to do with what one calls Filter packs a standard offering is free as well there is a paid module as well,that is what livelink uses to run its Document conversion Service(DCS,FT Index).What you may not have is a webservices stub/proxy.Webservices are writen such that you are able to expose any server side livelink function .It just takes a methodical approach you make the stuff work in oscript and then run some packaged commands to generate WCF or its java equivalent.That may be the easier part.

When I go to my google documents,I can make any word document show up in their google viewer.If that API is free perhaps you could get real documents form livelink and show it using that API.just another thought as I have never understood what viewers bring to the table
