Submitting Form using webservice or XML?

Hi everyone,

 

We have created a Form Template (with SQL table) and created a form using the said template. 

What is the best way to submit this form for a 1000 items? can I use the webservice to submit this form or any other mechanism?

As I know opentext doen't support modifying the Database tables directly so I need a way to do it..

We have Livelink 9.7.1 and MSSQL server 2008

Here are one or two ideas.The new EWS/CWS I do not think they handle Forms at this point.You can either amend the OOB webservices meaning write the oscript equivalent and expose the new calls or if it is that complicated for you maybe some other avenues.

When you submit a form it is actually a POST being perfomed to a livelink RH.Livelink basically picks these and inserts it into tables so you could find a tool that could post for you.Perhaps the webreports tool may have an equivalent tag action.If you could do thi in oscript it would be a very easy.

Bhupinder Singh of OT has written an elaborate article on how livelink stores form values the first 4 columns are generated by livelink you may have to mimic that.

The old LAPIcode should still work with 9.7.1 had forms support

the current poster complains how difficult it is to update forms data with lapi .But about 5 or 6 years back I think I was able to do that.Can't remember but the java file looks like it may have been put there by me.
