Customization How to call a WebService from CS

Hello Experts,

I am using Object Importer to import the documents into CS10. My requirement is, once the document upload is successful by the Object Importer, I need to give a call to a Web Service internally. With this call, I need to pass the uploaded document's node to the web service as well.

At what place this customization needs to be done and how? Please advice.

Will you be calling a WebService that does something in livelink.If that is the case you are a client(consumer) to livelink 'sv CWS.Livelink's CWS is written in oscript.There is nothing preventing you from writing it in oscript.All you have to look in the test area of the basic service modules like DocManService etc for clues.

If you want oscript to consume another webservice,in this case livelink is the consumer(client) to that.You have POJO(java ) methods,sockets or file based methods to do so.It would be easier if you use a webservice language like .NET /java that is if you can design it like that.

As far as trapping an event on OI,OI does not give you a callback.You can either extend OI which is a framework,and pretty easy to do,or when OI creates Nodes like documents & folders core livelink allows you to subscribe to callbacks,we call them nodecallbacks.You could intercept them there.
