How to know from which document template the CASE management object has been initiated ?

Hi ,

I need to generate a report to know the information related to cases initiated from each document template ?

Is there a way to know from which document template the particular CASE has been initiated by quering out the Livelink schema ?

Please advice. We are using Case Management Framework 1.1.0.

As far as I can see, there is no specific table that stores this. The closest I have come is looking at KUAFPREFS for each user and that has an Assoc containing a list of Cases initiated by the users against each Case SubType, using the following SQL :

SELECT * FROM kuafprefs WHERE prefskeyword='cmbase'

Then you can process this Assoc to get the list.

However, if the user creates lots of Cases you may start to see DB errors as your will have overfilled the column in the database.

There is not a direct way to do that. Depending on your set-up it may be possible.

If you have only one template for a case type then you can do it based on the subtype.

If each case template has an unique classification assigned then you can do it based on the classification. The classification of the templates is copied to the instance.

Otherwise you need to find something else that uniquely identifies the template. The instance should then also have that same identification. You can think about roles, substructure, categories.

As best practice I always use a single classification to uniquely identify a template. This means that for each classification there is only one template.
