Multiple Queries Within Single Report Formatted on One Page

Hello everyone. I'm sorry to bring up a similar question to one I have already posted. I have been examing many options (and suggestions that people have posted here) to no avail. I may be mistaken, but I don't believe there is a solution that will allow us to do what we are hoping to do. I haven't been able to hands on test WebReports or LiveReports Extensions, but the User Guides/Release Notes don't appear to indicate that they have the functionality/flexibility to do what we are looking for. Our organization ws hoping to create reports similar to those of the old iRims (LLRS) management system. I have attached a report that was generated from this system. Ultimately, what you see in the attachment is what I'm attempting to achieve within Content Server.

User runs the report and then enters/selects the User and a date range. The report will produce data as per the attachment.

Are there any thoughts or ideas as to how this could be accomplished with OT offered solutions? I've also considered, but been trying to avoid BI Query -- but it may be the only solution.

etc..

    Hi Dave.

    It looks as though you're interested in seeing the activity of a user for a period of time. There is an audit trail within Content Server, that would provide this information in a single query with grouping of the audit type. Look at the DAudit* tables.

Thanks for the reply. I have been exploring the DAUDIT tables but don't think I will be able to pull everything I need (and format) the way we are requiring. Have you happened to use any other reporting offerings from OT that have a bit more flexibilty?

    Hi Dave.

    If you're talking strictly OT offerings for reporting, then you're essentially looking at LiveReports, WebReports and the BI tools that you've mentioned as far as I know.

    Hmm.. What about sub reports? I haven't had much experience with them, so perhaps someone else who has can speak up.

    Outside of OT there are lots of options - Crystal Reports, or Global Cents' "GCI Power Tools for Reports & Views" for example.

    I'd be interested in what you end up using!

    What do you guys do for multilingual metadata, by the way? ;-)

Hi Dave,

From a quick glance, this sounds like it would be easily achievable using WebReports. In short, you can have a ‘main’ WebReport that when executed fires off calls to SubWebReports which pull in various bits of data from multiple sources (ie. multiple LiveReports) to one single page. The data that's returned can be arranged however the user needs it to appear, and is fairly straightforward once you see it in action.

There’s a simple demo of this on our demo site here, which creates a dashboard of various LiveReport source into one page:

In the example, each SubWebreport writes to different DIVs in the final page, but the underlying HTML and data could be arranged to appear as if it was one big report or however you want it to look. Hope this helps!

You may be best executing a stored procedure, which creates a temporary table that you can select from and return as the result of your report.
