Impersonate User in Oscript

I am looking into a customization to OI that would enable the audit trail to reflect the createdby user instead of Admin as is normally done. Can this be done?

I am trying to show the config section of OI thru Chrome not sure it will make it thru.OI does allow the createdby to b any valid user in livelink however I think it will say 'Admin created this and that and the cratedby in dtree will be that user.If you "impersonate" then you will have to meet livlink's permissions model and will not have a clean sweep of objects as 'Admin' does that is one disadvantage.I hav another idea what if you just intercepted a succesful node creation and change the dauditnew table entries.I do that in a situation where I transport audit trail info from one livelink to another.I use a free field in the dauauditnew table to indicate that this came form another system as well.what I wanted this not to sound like sneaking and trying to defeat audit purposes,as I think there is some validity in what you are trying to do.Imepersonation would work but will face permission challenges that you ahve to tackl.

Hi Kevin,

You can always try using the <createdby> tag in your OI input XML to specify a different creator for the object that you just uploaded. You can also take a look at Section 5.3 of the OI Administration Guide to help you out with this.

But, just like what Appu quoted above, this does not change the Audit tab details for the Create event. So, you will definitely need to cook up a custom script or some sort of extensions to intervene & manipulate the Audit trail in ways described best by Appu himself so that the desired user is set in the Create event.

I think it's possible. Two ways for this:

1>If you don't mind leaving the OOB Admin user audit trial there, you can simply customized OI to insert the createdby user audit trial once it confirms the object is created successfully

2>if you do mind, then you need to add an additional customization:

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>send a flag to the core to indicate the transaction is requested from OI,

<![if !supportLists]>· <![endif]>the core will detect this flag to act accordingly to insert the “createdby” user in the audit table.

However, being said that, I don’t recommend this type of customization; sending fake audit info into the audit table is like modifying the audit table records which may not comply with legal requirement.
