Very Long Statetment will crash with CS10

Hi,

I faced a problem with an upgraded to CS10 livereport that was working in LL971, I relized that the problem is reside in the variable input when it is used in a long SQL Statement.

The problem is whenever I request the user to fill a variable let's say "User Input 1" in Param %1, the report will give an Syntax Error message and the %1 parameters will be replaced as :A1 to :A8 on each replacement request, any advise please?

Hi Mazen,

 

There should not be a problem with long statements. How long is long?

 

Are you trying to use a where condition with the LIKE operator?

For example,  WHERE Name LIKE ‘Smith%’

If so, then that must be ‘escaped‘ by using two % characters and should be LIKE ‘Smith%%’ in a LiveReport.

 

This is because the LiveReport will assume the % character is introducing a user parameter.

 

Can you copy your statement into this thread so we can understand where it might be going wrong?
