CreateFolder web services in a multi-language environment

Hello,

We installed CS10 and I have to use the createfolder method (using the webservice) to be able to create the folder in the French language AND in the English language.

From what I saw, the createfolder method hasn't changed that much, it only have the name of the folder but I can't find how I will be able to use the web service, when creating the folder, in telling him that the French name of the folder will be "this" and that the English name will be "that".

Can someone give me some hints or an example on how to achieve this please.

We're using CS10, C# in .Net 4.

You won't be able to do it on creation, but after creating the folder you will just have to call the DocumentManagement.UpdateMultilingualMetadata() method to set the multilingual metadata for other languages.

NOTE, the initial CreateFolder() call will set the name/description in the current user's preferred language only.

newNode = LLDoc.CreateFolder( ref Auth, rootNode.ID, nameE, descriptionE, null );

// To be sure we update the metadata of both languages

// in case the default language is not English anymore...

mm[0].Name = nameF;

mm[0].Description = descriptionF;

mm[0].LanguageCode = "fr_CA" ;

mm[1].Name = nameE;

mm[1].Description = descriptionE;

mm[1].LanguageCode = "en_CA" ;

LLDoc.UpdateMultilingualMetadata( ref Auth, rootNode.ID, mm);

... as you can see the folder is created but I have nothing in the French "Français" Description.

Do I have to call another method to "commit" the change after the UpdateMultilingualMetadata method ?

Just taking a quick look at your sample code, you are creating the folder "newNode" but updating node "rootNode". Is this your problem?
