Method to remove a category

Hi there,

I'm not sure whether I'm missing something but I can't see how to remove a category from a document node using web services.

As a workaround I'm thinking of building a new Metadata object with the attibutegroups I want to keep and replace the Metadata property on the node. But, if there's a better way I'd like to hear it.

Hi,

The only option is to create new attributes group, atach the new attribute groups to Metadata and then use UpdateNode funtion to update categories for an existing objects in system.

Yes, the only way to do this is to remove the category from the Metadata object and update the node. For the node update you can either use the UpdateNode() method, or if you are using update 10 or later there is a SetNodeMetadata() method available that allows you to just update the Metadata property on a node. This method works the same as UpdateNode but doesn't have to look at all other node properties to figure out what else it needs to update.
